This year, one of the most celebrated cat walk events is going to be taking place inside the cathredal-esque walls of the Pierce Arrow building (Pierce Arrow Film Arts Center). Mass Appeal fashion show, the Elmwood Village Association’s signature fundraising event, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013. In the past, the event has been held at Lafayette Presbyterian Church, but this year the church is undergoing its own transformation, into a mixed-use building featuring residential units.
Each year fashion-forward people and fans of larger than life events attend this tremendous function. Not only do you get to enjoy the show in a magnificent space (the former Pierce Arrow showroom), the money raised on the night of the fashion show will go towards beautification and infrastructure improvement on and along Elmwood Avenue, as well as programs and events, and economic development activities.
Join nearly 1000 people as they congregate to check out the latest in local fashions, all of which you can see at shops on the Elmwood Strip. For six years running, local boutiques, designers and artists have come together to showcase their talents in a way that is different from year to year. The theme for the upcoming event is “Activate: #PushGo”. The idea is to not only interact with the models and the clothing, but to also interact with the outside Social Media world while you’re at it. “This year, we will provide hyper-interactive experience with the Mass Appeal crowd, combining our fashion-forward event with a kinetic boost from major community influencers,” said Carly Battin, executive director of the Elmwood Village Association. “We want to inspire others to activate and make a positive change in our community.”
