Symposium to be Held Next Week Regarding the Future of Main Street in Niagara Falls

Change is on the horizon in Niagara Falls and they want your help and input for how to improve Main Street. There is a wealth of historic buildings along Main Street that are totally underutilized and could be real seeds of change for the area with the proper use and tenants.

The 2013 Main Street Symposium will take place Saturday, March 9^th from 12 pm to 4 pm at the historic Rapids Theatre, 1711 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14305. It is free and open to the public and includes a walking tour down Main Street so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

The goal of the symposium is to bring experts from a variety of fields like business development, historic preservation, urban planning, etc. to share ideas and create the vision to spark change on Main Street. An expert on downtown economic development, Chuck D'Aprix, will be presenting and discussing the long-term viability of Main Street and crucial items to maximize the street's potential. The founder of the Streets Plans Collaborative, Mike Lydon, will also present about short-term revitalization techniques to start gaining interest in the development community.
