LifeCycles, an Orangery and Demonstration Garden Exhibit

Leave a commentHow come the above image doesn't show the over priced office building built so a dozen or so people can pretend to work every day! Where is the money for this dream comming from? The north end of the garden's building is in need of repair ,broken windows, rotting structure etc.Maybe Swarts can take a look out his fancy office window and see what really needs to be done on the gardens.Citrus trees.....!
Work has been in process to access grants that had been awarded many years ago and delayed for reasons beyond the Gardens' control. This work will be to repair the houses surrounding the Dome and facility upgrades. The Botanical Gardens have steadily grown from a "friends organization" that saved the structure from demolition to a thriving, self sustaining organization that has steadily made improvements to the facility and the collection despite not actually owning the building. This design work and collaboration with the students from UB is a testament to the commitment the Gardens' Board of Directors and Executive Director and Staff all have for the future of this amazing asset. Come out to see the exhibit and I am sure you will be inspired as well!
are there plans to actually accept one of these design proposals and build it? or is this just an exercise in 'wouldn't it be great if...?'
i'm not trying to be snarky. if these are just entertaining "what if" designs, then i don't need to worry about one of them undermining the integrity of the lord & burnham greenhouse.

The botanic gardens are definitely one of Buffalo's best kept secrets.
