D'Arcy McGee's is hosting its 12th annual St. Patrick's Day Post Parade Party this Sunday. The party is D'Arcy's busiest day and party of the year. Located at 257 Franklin Street, the restaurant and bar is one block from the St. Patrick's Day parade on Delaware Avenue.
Since D'Arcy McGee's opened in June 2001 it has attracted huge crowds every Parade Day as people flock for Irish Music, Irish Fare and of course the selection of Irish Beers. There has been a parade party annually at the Coliseum complex since it opened in March 1996.
The overflow crowd is accommodated in a giant heated tent in the adjacent parking lot fitted with beer stations and live music from Kurt's Back and Murphy's Law. The restaurant opens at 11 AM for lunch and the bar opens at Noon.
This Sunday D'Arcy McGee's will be featuring on draught "draft" Guinness, Kilkenny, Smithwicks, Harp, Magner's Cider and seventeen extra draft choices from over the world. McSorleys, Killians, Flying Bision Aviator Red, Great Lakes Conway's Ale and Dundee Irish Red to name a few. Irish Whisky will also be featured with choices from Bushmills, Black Bush, Jameson, Paddy, Powers, Tulamore Dew, Red Breast and Tyconnell.
A full slate of entertainment is planned. Rince Na Tirana Irish Dancers appear at noon on the heated patio followed by live music from The Guilty Party and Jeremy Hoyle and Strictly Hip to finish off the day with some classic rocking beer drinking songs.
Inside, D'Arcy McGee's will be serving food all day and have DJ Paul Foxe playing upbeat Irish tunes.
Of course the wearing of green is encouraged to party goers who are coming down to support this very Americanized Holiday or even for those who chose to come downtown to cheer on the Buffalo Sabres who happen to be playing on Sunday.
D'Arcy McGee's is working in partnership with Sheriff Howard and Liberty Cabs for those who have too much fun. Coupons at the bar will be available for a FREE cab ride home within a 25 mile radius of downtown.
