For those of you who didn't get a chance to see the lighting of the POOL Elevator last summer, there is a video out that showcases the incredible display of artistic illumination. With film shots from both land and water, it is easy to see how this type of display can capture the imaginations of anyone who pays a visit to the waterfront. Not to mention the international PR potential.
On March 13 the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC) will bring the design contract to the board for approval and the designing and permitting for the illumination at the Connecting Terminal will take about 6-9 months and then the project will go out to bid for the construction.
So far, the plan that is recommended for the waterfront is to illuminate three bridges and two elevators.
isn't that spectacular...the potential is limitless.
