New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan is hosting a community meeting tomorrow to discuss the future of the current Women and Children's Hospital campus on Bryant Street. Women and Children's Hospital will move to a new location at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus by December of 2015 and will be renamed the John R. Oshei Children's Hospital. The meeting will focus on community ideas for what should be done with the current Women and Children's Hospital campus when it becomes vacant.
The meeting will feature presentations by the Elmwood Village Association, Excite Elmwood, Kaleida Health, Architect Clinton Brown, Dean of the UB School of Architecture Robert Shibley, and a representative from Preservation Buffalo Niagara.
The public is encouraged to attend and will have the opportunity to present their ideas on the future of the current campus.

I agree with Bender. Tear the existing buildings down and develop middle to high income condo housing that would attract (or retain) the professional working class that tends to flee to the suburbs once they have school age children.
Develop housing in the areas of the city where people desire to live....this parcel would generate great real estate tax revenue if developed in a way that complemented the surrounding neighborhood.
