Well, I was being sarcastic. Ya know...to reinforce my disdain for the whole "Black Friday" foolishness.
Are you one of those people who think that anybody with an opposing viewpoint should simply go away? Pretty narrow-minded, yet you most likely consider yourself "progressive." Silly way of thinking, if you ask me.
I missed the Trekkie. As for this event, does this mean there will be good deals to be had? I love the fact that Elmwood has higher end fashion, toys, furniture etc that is hard to find in a region full of chain strip malls. But my eyes are bigger than my budget here.
Love the idea. But not the name.
"Black Friday" and "Boutique Crawl" seem like things you'd want to avoid.
Merchants on Elmwood need to get better product on thier shelves, been back many times to shop the strip only to find the same lame stuff they had last month, year etc.I'd rather stay home, shop on line and have it sent to my house. And by the way the homeless pandhandlers up and down the Elmwood strip doesn't make me want to go back to shop or eat anytime soon......
I agree there's a serious lack of variety on Elmwood. I want to support local retailers but the fact remains there is not enough selection or products to solely rely on them for everyday needs and even holiday shopping.
We really need a clothing store that sells mens clothing, not just Urban Threads which has like five items to choose from but a store that has the equivalent selection and inventory as say the Gap.
Until then there's only so many candle holders and I heart Buffalo swag that I need. I really want to spend my money on local retail but there's simply no way I could given the lack of selection.
Rofl. Evenif it's the "same stuff," it's still more unique than you'll find at the galleria. As far as panhandlers, I think Elmwood has maybe two of them. Balls too small to just walk past them if u don't like them? Like. Really?!
Oh, and who refers to Elmwood Village as 'the strip' anymore. What is this, 1994?
Pretty hard to walk by a large man when I'm with my wife and three small children. We came out of a so called pizza place recently on Lexington near Elmwwod and he ran full force at us asking for money.I came to the area from the the Kitchen /lower w.side of N.Y.C. recently and I'm not impressed with your Elmwood village. It seems like the folks who live in that area take a blind eye to crime .
For god sakes. Go crawl back under your miserable rock.
The panhandling has been ridiculous on Elmwood lately. I can't walk to Cole's anymore without getting stopped at least twice by beggars. Just now I was harassed twice by this lady while I was just trying to get groceries out of my car.
I love living on Elmwood but it's been a nuisance just trying to walk around or do basic errands without being pestered. Something needs to be done otherwise foot traffic around here will go down considerably.
Clean the streets and streetscapes, get the homeless beggers to control themselves and somehow get landlords to spruce up their commercial exteriors....And get a few more niche stores to move in....

That's all great, but can I get a 70-inch LCD TV for $299?
Black Friday is SO not worth it unless you're standing outside for hours in line at midnight. You know, like a #%&@.
