On Friday November 2, 2012 The Benjaman Gallery and YWCA of WNY present ROAR! The gallery exhibit will showcase works by 40 female artists including Katie Ambrose, Rita Auerbach, Jolene Beckman, Jeanette Blair, Melissa Campbell, Megan Corcoran, Elaine Cryer, Virginia Cuthbert, Jane Foley Ferraro, Susie Kelly Flatau, Gigi Gatewood, Cheryl Jackson, Felice Koenig, Bethany Krull, Elizabeth Leader, Julie Liberti, Candace Masters, Sharon Morgante, Esther Neisen, Nancy J. Parisi, Catherine Parker, Tara Sasiadek, Claire Shuttleworth, Shasti O'Leary Soudant, Ellen Steinfeld, Rachel Stenclik, Laurie Tanner, Martha Visser't Hooft and Sara Zak.
ROAR! is an inspirational gallery event that not only showcases the works of Buffalo's great female artists, there is another component that sees all of the proceeds from the event going toward women and families in the area who are in need. "This event is the first time that YWCA of WNY and The Benjaman Gallery have partnered and we are very excited about the event. The idea of having women artists donate all or part of the proceeds from their work to help other woman and families in this community is fantastic. Women helping other women is so important," said Deborah Lynn Williams, CEO of YWCA of WNY.
