Read the article....The owner should be helped and praised for trying to bring something fun and new to the area...Does anyone on here think that any other city that is progressive and has real people living in it would turn him down here...Its a joke...kid just wants to run a good business and expand on it and he will move to the burbs.....Good job ELmwood village, city of Buffalo and LOCURTO....idiots

I have seen the exact kind of restaurant he wants to create. Greek dancing, greek bands, etc together is a great experience, and one you would take visitors of Buffalo to.

I think those who are protesting the music, don't understand quite frankly.

If you're going to mad at someone, find a derelict building with a negligent owner.

this side article on Acropolis has me irritated- so rant I have to....I am so tired of preservationists, obstructionists and politicians, annoying old neighbors etc.....I dont know if anyone has had there eyes opened the past 50 years but what we have been doing hasnt worked....We are one of the poorest ciities annually in the country, publics schools suck;(which was just revealed by an outside consultant that we paid a ton of money); but already knew...Neighborhoods are struggling to keep commercial spots open because of out of touch owners, A-hole neighbors....When is someone going to tell Buffalo and all of their loud mouth politicians that what they have been doing doesnt work...
Finally after too many years of awfulness...I can only name 2 or 3 cities that seem to be suffering more than us...Finally there are a select few who are willing to put money into the city and turn a corner and we still have idiots blocking them...Maybe its time to let these people try and grow the city...Progree works...It may not look asthetically great sometimes but it works....Just ask all 200 other cities that are doing better economically than Buffalo...................
Let Savarino build his buffalo river condos, let Acropolis creat a Greek destination.., the list goes on....
It is so frustrating...And for the people that want to obstruct, make them responsible for something instead of their own loud mouths.....

Now this looks like an awesome beer fest! That's an amazing lineup! As for the Acropolis owner, there's an article on Buffalo.com about him looking to open a suburban site and stating that the city location is "up in the air". I don't know him personally but he kind of seems like a dick.

well you should introduce yourself to him next time you are at Acropolis and find out for yourself, I happen to think he is a pretty nice guy that tries real hard to run a good and profitable business.

Here's a link to that
http://www.buffalo.com/grub-pub/blog/acropolis-opa-announces-expansion-plans-buffalo-location-up-in-the-air/

For someone who doesn't know him personally, it sure sounds as though you have a strong dislike...today calling him a dick and a few weeks ago I think it was you if I'm not mistaken who called him an as*hole on here. (sorry if it was someone else who called him the a-word)

I've never met him and have no idea either way if your name calling toward him is accurate or not. In the interview at that link he doesn't seem obnoxious or anything like that, although anything's possible. I suppose those same insults could apply to a lot of business owners, and to a lot of employees, politicians, customers, on and on.....

I'm a little baffled that he wants to create a restaurant that celebrates Greek culture and cuisine but brags about replacing olive oil with soybean oil.

That wasn't me in the other thread but from the interviews I read with him during his expansion debacle he didn't exactly seem gracious, but you're right, I've never met him and shouldn't have called him a dick.

Aside form this, I just ordered tix to Micros @ Marcy and am looking forward to it.

Actually, FWIW, it was you (or at least your login account) in the other thread too. His name wasn't mentioned, but it's clear he's who was meant.
I just remembered it was in the one about Blue Monk...

Ahh, I was looking for an Acropolis thread in my posts. I forgot about that one. I stand corrected yet I still say that after reading and seeing what he has to say, I'm not yet inclined to change my opinion. I will stop into his place though.

Looks like a good lineup. My only concern is that if it is anything like the one last year at the Connecticut St. Armory; don't expect any informative representative from the majority of the breweries. Most of the people from that were volunteers and couldn't tell me a thing about the beer, brewing process, where to get it etc. Not to say that wil be the case with this one; but if I'm dropping $40+ have someone there that can tell me a bit about the beers, not just grabbing my cash and running.
