Lights, camera, action! Movie magic is about to take place this fall in Buffalo as the local film "Give & Take" starts production. The screenplay by local actress and entrepreneur Gail Golden (founder of Dramatic Solutions and Wondermakers) is inspired by her real life experiences working as an actress in Buffalo and beyond. The film is a coming of age story that takes place in the wacky, wonderful and sometimes dysfunctional world of the theatre. Gail first wrote the screenplay seven years ago and was recently inspired to take it off the shelf and make into a full length feature film. The film is being directed by local film maker Scott Andrew Kurchak of Arlington Place Pictures and is being produced in conjunction with Dramatic Solutions and NDstudios. Matthew Nardone of NDstudios is the director of photography.
The film follows Ellie a young enthusiastic actress who struggles to communicate and fit in with the theatre community of a new town. In her want to make friends she finds herself giving her heart, soul and support to the thespians she befriends and mostly finds herself on the giving end of things, inspiring the title of the film. Director Scott Andrew Kurchak describes it as Waiting for Guffman meets The Producers and Leslie Caron as Lilli wanders in you have "Give & Take". The production stars Bonnie Jean Taylor as Ellie and is rounded out by a who's who of actors from the local Buffalo theatre community. The entire film is being shot locally in Western New York at various locations such as The Foundry, Adam Mickiewicz Library and the Kavinoky Theatre.

In an effort to try to raise additional funds for the film, there is an Indiegogo campaign. The money raised will be to help get the film submitted to various film festivals in the hopes of finding a distributor. Anyone who would like to donate money please click on the following link: www.indiegogo.com/GiveandTake - every little bit helps.
