The historic Market Arcade Building now has a new and stylish retail tenant, J. Christian Fashion Boutique, selling ladies apparel and accessories for all occasions. Owner, Jaime Hargrove decided to open her own retail store after several years of selling clothing and accessories online. With such a high demand for retail downtown and requests from online customers to open a storefront, Jaime decided it was time. With her love for the historic building, the location was more than perfect!
J. Christian Fashion Boutique held a soft opening during this year's Curtain Up! on Sept. 14. Many theater and party-goers passing through the building were surprised and happy to see a new retailer in this historic shopping center. The boutique has since been getting a lot of attention from nearby office workers, as well as theater-goers passing through the building. Could this be the start needed to lure other retailers inside this amazing building or at least into downtown Buffalo? Time will tell.
If you are wondering what J. Christian has in store, I believe no matter what your style or age, you will find something for your liking! The store offers a great selection of business attire, party dresses, casual wear, and Sunday Best dresses and hats as well as jewelry, clutches, scarfs, and other accessories. The $5 jewelry table is a big hit, and already Jaime has plans to expand her product lines (stay tuned).
Also, next week the store is having its official Grand-Opening Two-Day Celebration Bash and everyone is invited:
Friday, October 26Th. 5:30pm-9pm - Enjoy, food, drinks, live mannequins around the store and lobby, purchase an outfit and you will be intitled to a free make-over by one of many local stylists and make-up artists who will be present, have your photo taken by Kajuan Lyons of Lyons Photography available for print right then and there.
Saturday, October 27Th. 11am - 4pm- More great food, drinks, live mannequins, free make-overs and styling tips from local professionals, have your photo taken by Kajuan Lyons of Lyons Photography available for print, a very special Fashion Show at 12 noon in the lobby showcasing the many styles offered in the store, Live music provided by the students of Muhammad School of Music (located across the hall), live performance from the female choir at New Beginning Church of God, hosted by WBLK's own, Lady K.
