The Peddler Seeks Shelter

I imagine the event season is low during then and it would bring people in there to appreciate the building too. I imagine if you book every saturday for the whole winter you could get a deal. Afterall you only need the space and nothing more really. Not to mention the lobby bar which has food too!
The Statler would be a lovely choice I think!
If this is a Happy Endings reference then I thoroughly approve
247 Virginia is currently for sale for $24,995. It's a bar. It's also currently on the auction list, but it may be taken off at any time, or it might even go for more than that at auction. It's assessed at $30K.
The owner says it's 3,500sqft with 20ft ceilings, but the City says it's 2,652sqft with 12ft ceilings.
is there space at lafayette presbyterian church a few blocks down the street?
How about an old house of worship? Take for example on S. Elmwood at Virginia- the old Immaculate Conception catholic church? Privately owned...unused...they might entertain a deal.
Talk to Evergreen Center folks who now own the Prospect Baptist Church on Prospect and Georgia. I imagine they could use some extra money and the space would work.
What would be cool is to be able to rotate this through a couple of sites throughout the City. November: Central Terminal. December: Silo City. January: Statler. February: Bethlehem Admin.
These are just examples. Ideally it should be not for profits that are trying to raise money for preservation and/or restoration. It would allow you to build up city wide awareness as well as to give some attention and perhaps fundraising to some buildings that need it.
central terminal, yes yes yes!
but no to the others. beth steel is not up to code as a place of public assembly. likewise silo city. horrific liability issues.
How about the broadway market. I would say the terminal but its not heated.

The most recognized markets in NYC are housed in parking garages. I would think that a garage in DT Buffalo, which would normally sit vacant on a weekend, would love some business on a Saturday.
Why not consider the Main Place parking ramp? While most ramps would be uninhabitable for large portions of the winter, the Main Place ramp has two below grade levels that are sheltered from the elements and are almost comfortable even in the worst weather. Parking on the weekends is free and the lower levels are bereft of cars on most weekends. The ramp is managed by Buffalo City Auto Ramps, not Main Place. It would also offer the amenities of food and restrooms on the store levels of the mall. And, it's accessible with tons of parking.
