Itching for fall festivities? Don't feel like driving all the way out to Ellicotville next weekend? Once again, the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation is bringing Oktoberfest to Buffalo. This Saturday September 29, the Buffalo Central Terminal will host Western New York's "largest and most authentic" Oktoberfest celebration. "The Buffalo Central Terminal has always been a place of public gathering and we continue by combining that legacy of the Terminal with our 10th Annual Oktoberfest," said Marilyn Rodgers, Executive Director at Central Terminal Restoration Corp. "Bringing all cultures together in celebration of German traditions, beer, food, and community. Funds raised during this event go towards the Terminal stabilization and rehabilitation projects, so, Wilkommen to all, and see you by the Buffalo!"
Beer, food and music (a few of our favorite things) will be available to help us ring in the fall season German-style. Warsteiner Beer is one of the sponsors for the event, so needless to say the Warsteiner will be flowing all night, with four varieties to choose from, served by the Central Terminal Beer Girls in a customary Biergarten setting. Pott's Deli will be serving up traditional German food and live music including The Auslanders and The German American Musicians will be performed all night.
The event runs from 4 to 11pm and admission is $10, but college ID's will earn you half off admission from 4 to 5pm. If you're feeling uber-festive, come dressed in traditional German garb (the CTRC suggests Dirndls or Lederhosen) and get in for free! All money raised from the event will go toward the restoration of the historic terminal. What better way to celebrate the season and the city?
