Bring a lawn chair and/or blanket, and come at seven if you or your children would enjoy painting a paper mache moon. The music and films will begin as soon as it is dark enough, between 7:30 and 8pm.
The event is free, but donations to compensate musicians and pay for art supplies are welcome.
A Trip to the Moon or Voyage to the Moon (French: Le Voyage dans la lune) is a 1902 French black-and-white silent science fiction film. It is based loosely on two popular novels of the time: Jules Verne's From the Earth to the Moon and H. G. Wells' The First Men in the Moon. - Wikipedia
Modern Times is a 1936 comedy film by Charlie Chaplin that has his iconic Little Tramp character struggling to survive in the modern, industrialized world. The film is a comment on the desperate employment and fiscal conditions many people faced during the Great Depression, conditions created, in Chaplin's view, by the efficiencies of modern industrialization. The movie stars Chaplin, Paulette Goddard, Henry Bergman, Stanley Sandford and Chester Conklin, and was written and directed by Chaplin. - Wikipedia

A TRIP TO THE MOON by George Melies was the film that played a prominant role in the plotline of the recent brilliant film HUGO, directed by Martin Scorcese.
