This sounds like that store "Cockamamie's" in that old Simpsons episode where Homer thinks Bart is gay.
Look at that storefront...is that really the best the owners could do for their property...and for the community that patronizes that store?
Do you, pauls-o-blah, have any idea who owns or rents this building? No? Of course not, because ... well, because you are the way you are. Go spend some money at this place, give the shopkeepers some income, and then whine about how you don't like the exterior. Or just shut up.
I wish the new shopkeepers much luck. Many years ago, in this very shop, I bought a terrific electric fixture (3 lights, new wires, pink glass shades) for $40 , a red velvet Morris Chair ($60), and a great brass floor lamp with shilk shade for $45 - all of which survived more than 3 moves & still do service right now. Used and "re-purposed" stuff can be the best & most loved "stuff" of all.
They're not even open yet..jeez! I'd like to come to your home or business and critque it but unfortunately I'm not allowed in your mom's basement.
As for this place, it sounds like a good little venture and it's nice to see another shop open up off Elmwood that sells items I can actually use on a regular basis as well as unique items that I can buy for my nephew. Good luck!
Hate on the guy for speaking the truth huh...the store front is deplorable. I would hope the store owners are getting a deal on rent. It can't be legal to have that much pealing paint and raw wood on the front of the building.
On that note...man o man..I was just thinking about the chronic shortage of thrift stores in the City of Buffalo and how much I do NOT like purchasing new things.
I haven't been by there lately but has the exterior of the Place been painted with the new renovations going on? That brown paint has been peeling off for the last 10 years at least
