Support a business that supports its customers

Support a business that supports its customers
Yesterday marked the first day in business for Abalie (see more) - Elmwood's only lingerie boutique, and one of the only places in Buffalo to purchase "day to day items along with sexy lingerie and maternity wear, bras and panties, comfortable and cute, Body Wrap (similar to Spanks), some higher end, sleepwear, plus-sized bras." It's also the only place that you will find a bra fitter. As a matter of fact, until yesterday I was completely unaware that there was such a thing as a bra fitter. "A lot of women just wear the same size out of habit," Abalie's Bra Fitter, Jules Gee, told me. "They don't think to go up or down cup or band sizes. If their bra is slipping or riding up, then it's not fitting properly. We have bras from smaller cups to full figure, and we make sure that they fit properly. I take measurements and then I can tell the customer which range of bras would be the best fit. There's a changing room that doubles as a fitting room."

While bras may be the hot selling item (down the road), Abalie also carries nursing nightgowns and pajamas. "It's our first day open and we've already had a few customers come in and buy something... there are a lot of people who have been waiting for us to open. Customers have been telling us that there has been a need for this sort of boutique in the city. Come fall we'll be selling more pajamas and nightgowns, along with darker colors. Right now we have a wall dedicated to special occasions, another one for everyday wear, a full figure section and a maternity and nursing wall. I'm very pleased the way the merchandising has worked out."

C'mon guys and girls... don't be shy. It's time to support a business that's in the business of supporting its customers.

Perhaps if we could what the clothing items looked on some cutsomer, we get a better indication of the business model?

I must be a buildings geek given that what really caught my eye here is the floor: is that carpeting, or really nice terrazzo--?

If you cannot concentrate on their merchandise and think great thoughts, rather, focus on design, material and build of the non merchandise, than yes, you are a geek.
