I don't have to tell you that it's hot as Hades outside. I am wilting like summer flowers as we speak. And the experts are saying that this is just the beginning. This is going to be a very, hot summer and I'm not talking about yours' or your boyfriend's hot body.
If you are extremely lucky with having friends with beach houses and summer shares on Long Island Sound, the Hamptons, Fire Island, the Jersey Shore, Cape Cod, Provincetown or anywhere near a wide and warm body of water, more power to you. If you are the friend with the financial wherewithal to have a beach house or summer share near a wide and warm body of water, we need to talk. The rest of us will have to do with deploying as many fans around the house and/or turning up the air conditioning to the highest level possible. But since we can't go to the beach, we decided to bring you some beach bodies showcasing the swimwear trends that are front and center this season.

DAVID TRUBRIDGE "NEW SLING" CANOE CHAIR - A design that marries the simple construction
technique of his previous "Body Raft" with the simple elegance of the "Sling" chair in a highly resolved,
abstracted "hammock-like" form that is both furniture and sculpture. The "New Sling" represents a
culmination of the aesthetic that Trubridge has pursued over the past several years, an aesthetic inspired
by his love of boats and the sea, the Pacific cultures with which he has come into contact and his
concern for sustainable materials and production methods. With its contradictions--it is boat-shaped but
incapable of floating, solid-looking but see-through, sculptural yet functional--"New Sling" is considered

RUSSELL WOODWARD BLACK WIRE MESH CHAIR - Russell Woodward was an American furniture designer
closely associated with the Mid-Century Modern Movement. During the 1930s, Mr. Woodward and his
brothers, Lyman and Joseph, began to develop the first line of hand-crafted wrought iron furniture. Since
that time, the classic Woodward Chair have become synonymous with casual outdoor furniture and
have been made from a variety of materials. However, the most famous Woodward chairs are typically
constructed from cast and tubular aluminium, such as the one used in the photo-shoot.
