Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Staff Review by Suzanne Colligan:
Halpern, best known for his Twitter feed, book, and TV show, "S*it My Dad Says", delivers a book that mixes his dad's acerbic wit with a trip down the author's dating memory lane. The idea originated from the author informing his dad that he's proposing to his longtime girlfriend. Dad urges his son to reflect upon his life and the women in it to be certain of his decision.
Halpern's hapless adventures with women from grade school to post college are center stage with Dad's zingers in the wings. Some may be disappointed at the prospect of the elder Halpern in the shadows but his son's mishaps interspersed with Dad's candid reactions are worth staying for. While Dad is unabashedly funny and surprisingly wise, his son is a terrific and humorous story teller.
