This week saw the 30th anniversary for the Downtown Country Market.

While many people think of the market as a place to load up on fruits and veggies, there are other reasons to head down to the Buffalo's business district each Thursday... did someone say flowers? Just take a gander at the awesome array of flowers to be found at the market. You can count on over 20 vendors displaying each week, and while many specialize in produce, there are also colorful flower stands, which have become a major hit with anyone looking to spruce up the office or the home. There's also a big window of time in which to shop for the goods - the market opens at 8am each morning and wraps up at 2:30pm.
No matter if you are an early riser and get there just after set-up, or you are looking to catch the farmers during your lunch break, the hours are long and the bounty is plentiful. Oh, and I almost forgot - you can also find some incredible baked goods. If you really want to be a hit at the office, there's nothing like some county-style baking to get your co-workers motivated. Stop by your favorite cafe for a cup of coffee, but wait until you get to the market to purchase a tasty treat.
Don't forget to walk, bike or take the Metro Rail!
