Full Circle: 86 Norwood
While this might seem like the 'never ending story', I felt that I needed to post an update on 86 Norwood, the house that was featured on Buffalo Rising just yesterday.

Since that time I received an email from a BRO reader 'TM' who has the backstory on the renovation, along with a couple of photos that I have been hoping to see. The first image (see below) is what the house looked like when I first came across it. Blander than bland due to the missing front porch. The next image that TM sent along is a historic shot of what the house looked like before it was stripped of its character.
Here's the backstory from TM:
"I saw your recent post on 86 Norwood yesterday. It's my buddy's place. I talked him into rebuilding the porch last year right after he bought the place. I told him "It's like having a pretty face but without a smile". My father and I took the 100 year old photo (built 1892!) that he had and began drawing up some plans [part of TM's profession]. I think our design replicates the original pretty well.
"Unfortunately my father (a retired carpenter) is in his 70's and I work full time, so we were unable to construct it for him but my father's friend, Mark was able to do it for us. Also, he's having the whole house painted soon, so keep an eye out for the finished product."
For those who would like to get a firsthand look at the house, it's now on the Garden Walk.

so many houses were de-porched. it is amazing how your whole opinion of a house can change from worthless to special, based on whether it still has a porch or not.
This house has a very nice garden in the back. Be sure to check it out on Garden Walk.

I used to live right around the block from this house and remember its blandness. I drive down this block quite often and have been in awe over the facelift, it makes such a difference! Great job.
