Attention, all St. Bona's grads - There's a great new pictorial history of St. Bonaventure University. The Good Journey: 150 Years of History at St. Bonaventure University is based on the research of Edward Eckert and edited with additional content by Robert, Ann and Daniel McCarthy. The book begins by describing the founding of what was then St. Bonaventure College in 1858. The school continued to grow and while in a rather remote location, it was not immune to the challenges of the different eras going on around it. The book discusses the different forces that shaped the college and how they helped to make the university what it is today.
The photographs in the book are spectacular. They allow the reader to travel through the different times on campus. For anyone who has a love for St. Bonaventure University, this book is a must see!

Is there information in the book on Chester Oakley, the architect who designed many of the buildings on campus -- as well as some great buildings in Buffalo like Blessed Trinity on Leroy--?
The Good Journey mentions Oakley as the architect for SBU campus buildings Devereux Hall, Hickey Dining Hall, and Friedsam Memorial Library. He also refined the design of St. Joseph's Oratory.
