Celebrate International Cash Mob Day TODAY, in the City Where It Started

Waaay back in August, 2011, blogger Chris Smith had the genesis of an idea that has since spread like all over: the Cash Mob (Wikipedia).  Just months later, we're celebrating our very first International Cash Mob Day - celebrated locally by convening some Buffalo Love (and cash) at Ulrich's.  Details below.

As Cash Mobbing spreads across the nation - in a movement with interesting parallels with the Occupy movement - media everywhere has been picking up on it.  A few months ago Chris Smith was a guest on NPR's Here and Now.  This week, coverage from Twitter, to FB, blogs, to the Christian Science Monitor - and everything in between - is talking about the Cash Mob phenomenon.

As part of the International Cash Mob Day festivities, the Buffalo Cash Mob will visit the City of Buffalo's oldest and most historic tavern -- Ulrich's -- on Saturday, March 24th at 5PM. Have a ticket for the Sabres game at First Niagara Center that night? Stop in for some pre-game festivities and have some beer with the fans. Looking for a place to watch the game? The Zumba Zombies were having fun
Pilates n' yoga hadn't yet begun

It was a Kodak Moment, everyone at Thin Ice
All were diggin' for locally made moichendise
Then NFTA suits caused a bit of a ruckus
Lookin' for "just one more quarter" to run their buses.

They begged for cash!

The Mob O'Cash
Said it seemed a bit rash

Now everything's cool, social media's part of the plan
And Mobs O'Cash trending by buzz across the land
To restore consumer zombies the O'Cash was meant, too
