Buffalo. For Real TV - Sportsmens Tavern

Leave a commentDan, the reason I mentioned it is because they referred to it in the video. Check it out.
Black Rock is continuing to rebound, the neighborhood is being discovered by a new generation that has recognized the potential here. We are the oldest neighborhood in Buffalo with a sense of stubborn pride that has never really faded. Black Rock was once an independent village with a long history dating to the earliest settlement of the Niagara Frontier. Our history is authentic as are the hard working people that are dedicated to seeing Black Rock thrive. We invite those looking for business or housing to take a look a look at "the rock". We offer great old buildings at reasonable prices and good neighbors willing to look out for and support each other.
As for the Sportsmen, always a good time, Dwayne and Denise run a first class operation. Always make you feel at home and they never tolerate any trouble. The crowd is a healthy mix of young and old with neighborhood folks mixed in with others from all over WNY. Never know who might be in the audience or who might join in with the band for a song or two. If you haven't been to the Sportmens you are missing one of the best live music venues in WNY.

> There's a reason that Buffalo is sometimes referred to as North Austin
Where? Who? Among the editorial staff of BR?
I lived in Austin for a year. Buffalo is nothing like Austin. NOTHING.
In some way, it's a bad thing; Austin is defined by its youth, energy, eclecticism, fresh blood from across the country, a population dominated by the creative class, a thriving and innovative restaurant scene, and prosperous tech-driven economy. In other ways, it's good; Austin lacks the urban built environment of Buffalo, and the high cultural scene is lacking. The visual pollution of Texas's trademark high-rise signs and billboards is hard on the eyes in a much different way than Buffalo's industrial landscape and urban blight; it's much harder to escape.
If Buffalo can be compared to any city in Texas, Houston comes close, but I wouldn't date to call Buffalo "Houston North." A lot of similarities with El Paso, too; an ethnic blue-collar border town.
They were talking about the bar not the city. It was a quote from a performer. Get your panties unbundled.
That was uncalled for, David. Go suck an authentic, genuine and real Buffalo Sahlen's.
