So what's a little snow when you're planning on running a 5K race? Nothing when you're referring to the annual Freezer 5K Run/Walk in the Cobblestone District. Buffalo is a runner's town, and when the temperature takes a dip, there are races to be run. This race is lucky enough to have Lagerhaus 95, the district's newest establishment on the block, to call 'home base'. Now that the Turkey Trot has been run, and the Olmsted Flurrious! fun run is more than a month away, runners are scrambling to line up at the Freezer starting line. Here are the details from race organizer Mark Lawrence:
"Next Sunday, Dec. 18th @ 11am is the start of the 3rd annual Freezer 5K Run/Walk in the Cobblestone District. Lagerhaus 95 is our home base and the race starts at 11am. The course travels around the FN Center area, to & from The Marina and is a fun, festive, challenging and thrilling event. Full details at www.heartrateup.com. Pre-registration & race-day entries are welcome. Helping support the Police Athletic League of Buffalo and its youth sports programs, we are proud to carry a new Buffalo tradition with our winter race. Included is a 5K run, 1-mile fun walk, great door prizes and post-race celebration at Lagerhaus 95. Plus a few Yeti will be in the mix! Many sponsors help contribute to make the Freezer successful and be it sun, snow, wind or rain, the gun goes off at 11am..."
