Taj Grill
Comments
Leave a commentThe same Sabi from the Gate? If that's the one - I'm there on opening day.
Indian food is terrible. The smell of Curry is nauseating. This may be good news for you but its bad news for the neighbors. Enjoy the stink.
Broaden your horizons there hillbilly. Indian food is great, and there aren't many options for it in Buffalo.
I, for one, can't wait for the Taj Grill to open.
I tried. I worked with a guy from India. We went to an Indian restaurant that he said was "pretty good" and I even tried some stuff that he made at home. I just didn't like any of it. My Indian neighbor in my old apartment cooked at home alot. He was a nice guy but the stink from his apartment made me sick.
Stink? I think not - walking into another establishment on Elmwood - the scent of the basmati rice and subtle spices is to die for!
Very good news, Indian food is very healthy and nutritious!
Alright I can see where hillbilly is going -- Indian food definetely does have a distinctive odor but hopefully the owners of the Taj Grill can find some success in North Buffalo -- I could hit up a few samosas right now...
Star of India on Delaware in Kenmore! Blows away India Gate, imho. Try their tomato soup (light, clear broth, outstanding flavor, dirt cheap). Their lamb/mushroom dish is one of my all time favorites. Love Indian food. Wish the cookbooks weren't so complicated. Looking forward to another option.
I have been waiting for the opening of this restaurant!!! I'm not sure if the owners read these posts, but I was just wondering...ARE YOU HIRING??? Please contact me at 345-5833.
Thanks-
Donna R.
taj grill finally opened this week and after my lunch buffet today, it will absolutely be my new indian spot. india gate has always been my favorite, but the taj grill food was on par if not better, and since it IS indeed the same sabi from india gate, i'll be a fully supportive convert. the restaurant is new, spotlessly clean, and the decor is as predicted - a mix of modern and traditional - and also comfortable and inviting. living in elmwood village, i have to drive PAST india gate to reach taj grill, but i'm confident that it will be worth it every time.
(for the record, i have nothing negative to say about india gate aside from the brutal nonexistence of a parking lot. I'm just eager to support my favorite folks from india gate in their new venture. i'd be thrilled to be a part of their hopeful success and i'm confident that the high quality food and service will lead to A LOT of repeat/regular customers).
in short, i officially love taj grill.
eh...too similar menu with india gate. thought it wud be something different. I also went to jewel and thought i would try this new restaurant as well but def would not go back. First of all it did not smell good at all! Secondly food was bland, tasteless, presentation was ok however. I dont know why the owner would open a restaurant if he doesnt even know anything about the restaurant business. Also do not like the weird location in the plaza. However, an opinions an opinion only. Still wish you guys luck!
