Also, maybe the Albright Knox would spread out some of the MANY, MANY sculptures it has clustered on its lawn throughout the city.....
The stupidest, ugliest, devoid of talent piece of junk.
Ok..everyone knows Im not a fan of modern art or sculpture
i know and i mostly agree with you. but i like the curves on this one.
Christylou-Queencity-etc, If you are no fan of modern art or sculpture, you are in no position to make any judgement on the artist's talent.
I like it, it almost makes the metal look like it is going to flap its wings and fly away if it wasn't tethered to the earth by the cables.
yes, it's very 'rustic' looking...
how about some kinetic wind sculptures near the lake or where the wind funnels thru the buildings downtown.

I saw the sculpture at the site. It is dynamic and impressive. The “winged” parts have a touching, heavenly upward tilt to them.
The pictures are misleading and fall very short. The large picture makes it look as if it was something for Disney World. The others make it look squeezed and as though it was unskillfully designed.
The middle of the tree makes me think of...how can I say this politely...a certain part of [Deleted]
great....Buffalo as a walkable museum and sculpture park....Sounds interesting....Keep em coming
Sorry to say it but I am not looking forward to when the rust starts dripping down the concrete pedestal...kinda like the thruway overpases. Unless the purpose is grunge art? A stainless tree may have been more appropriate in the context of a health care setting. Just my opinion.
Nice Job. Interesting Theme Which can be expanded upon. Good choice of materials for a city which was an important player in the steel industry.Good choice of materials because it requires no maintenance. To answer the question will it leave rust stains on the pedestal . Yes, until it completely oxidizes. FYI, The skin of the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh is made of Core-10 and Glass. Depending on how it weathers, it can also end up being a dark purple-Black.
I enjoyed seeing this about a week ago (?) at Ellicott and High -- nice to have this backstory.
