Music is Art 'busts a move' successfully

The location this year definitely allowed more space and encouraged more wandering. The one thing I didn't like was the bleed from the various stages. At one point I stood at the top of Shakespeare Hill deciding where to head to next, and I was overwhelmed by the sheer cachophony of the main stage, the DJ stage, the Americana stage, etc. And I felt as if I had to be right up next to the stage of my choice to truly hear the music. But overall, it was a great festival (as always).
I understand the sound bleed not being pleasant, but I actually felt it was better than some other locations, including the gallery. Don't forget, as far as I know there were more stages this year than ever before.
Overall, I feel this year for MIA was a big leap forward, as it moved from feeling like an all day 'show' to feeling like an all day 'festival', largely because of the space to wander around, all the vendors & artwork, & the many places you could just find a spot to sit & talk.
Excellent job by all those involved, I look forward to next year's MIA!
That last picture by Max Collins is not from MIA 2011..that is form the Party for the Parks years ago??? Shameless self promotion or what?
Almost as shameless as Geico flying above the festival and eschewing paying for a sponsorship.
That photo was from Part for the Parks on friday night that I threw into the batch of photos I sent to BRO. No shameless promotion happening here.
Best,
Max

Really liked the new location.
DJ stage at the rose garden sound-imposes on live performer stages.
Hope Party for the Parks considers moving to the weekend before Curtain Up- why should these two events (3 if you include Music is Art but that's really the next day) compete for people? I bet 500 people or more from Party might have gone to Curtain Up if it was not the same night. Party might get more, too. Might also give Party & Music is Art another 10 degrees of warmth to move a week earlier.
