Ribbon Cutting for 265' Olmsted Parks Mural

Ribbon Cutting for 265’ Olmsted Parks Mural
The Olmsted Parks Conservancy performed a ribbon cutting this morning, marking the near completion of the 265' mural depicting the Olmsted Parks' landscapes. Artist Augustina Droze (photo - red dress) will be adding the final touches this week, along with her artist partners from Buffalo State College.

The massive work has received so much attention this summer that additional plans to extend the piece are in the works.

Augustina is planning a return trip to Buffalo as an extended stay in order to attach an additional panel that was originally slated to be left blank. Then, students from McKinley High School will get to work using a laser cutter in order to produce metal artwork that will be attached to the railings overhead. As the metal work progresses, Olmsted Parks will begin to landscape in front of the mural, thus incorporating a 3-dimensional living element to the work.

Forgive my ignorance, but where exactly is this mural?

The mural is just south of McKinley high school. You can see it from the trail along the creek or from the back side of the Buff State campus

From the little bit visible in the photo, it looks beautiful.

I hope a photographer can do a cool high quality panorama type photo. This is a real work of art, looks great and hits on a lot of cool elements.
