Canalside Gets Busy

Canalside Gets Busy
There were quite a few attractions drawing visitors to the Inner Harbor today, including the opening of the temporary boardwalk extension, the opening and the naming of a new eatery (Clinton's Dish) along with picnic tables, the unveiling of a passive beach, the delivery of numerous colorfully painted 'sunset chairs', activities with Explore and More Children's Museum, a children's puppet theatre by Franklin Lavoie, tours on the tall ship Pride of Baltimore and all of the rest of Buffalo Place programming that people have come to expect. Wow, sounds like some movement down there. Where can I file the lawsuit?

Yes, we've got some things (finally) going on down there BECAUSE of the threat of a lawsuit.

It's a shame, but sometimes citizens have to sue government to get something done the right way.

Judging by your -4 out of 6 votes I would catagorize that as a false statement. Lawsuits are the reason why nothing down here is done yet. Oh wait, my bad, we have an ice cream shake built out of wood from a barn in Akron (whoooopie!). You notice a couple old people lounging in chairs, some kids playing in the sand, but no one is spending any substantial money (2.25 hot dog is not considered substantial). We need large attractions/retail. A movie theater (indoor/outdoor) restaurants (dinosaur bbq), and some retail (good luck the mall pretty much has it all). Ps good looks on the beach though I never thought about putting one in.

Oh, and I love the name: Clinton's Dish.

Monica? lol

Actually though, it is a play on words for Clinton's Ditch and the building of the Erie Canal, longgg before Bill, Hillary or Monica arrived on the scene.

Meanwhile, its gorgous at the waterfront! Come on down!!!

Clinton's "Dish". I don't like it.
Why not name it Clinton's Ditch and build it to look like the place in Schenectady?

In honor of (then) Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton who opened Canal side in 2008! I believe that was July 2, 2008... the name was released a day early.

Hillary Clinton's Dish... how appropriate!

might have also been a play on words in referencing the Erie Canal which was also called Clintons Ditch.

Can't wait to 'celebrate' what was a filthy hole of disease, theft, murder, and whoremongering. Buffalo Gals, wontcha come out tonight?

WoW! Let's all go down to lower main street and sit in a chair and eat at a snack shack, and see a fake beach. I think I'll wait until winter to avoid the throngs of people. And this only took ten years! I guess this explains why the vest pocket beach at Erie Basin now looks like a forlorn trash dump.

It's nice to have an exciting destination to anchor the trolley at the foot of main street. Nice accessibility for bikers anywhere in Metro Buffalo: bicycle-friendly train policy coupled with more and more bick racks on buses.
