It's a lot faster than I imagined. Very cool and a huge hit this weekend.

I'm nervous about the critical mass down there currently as far as the market for this goes, but i think it can be eventually successful. I just hope they're able to tough out a couple of weak years first. I think it will finally really take off once the area across the harbor at the Chinaman's becomes public park space. There is such a close visual connection, people will want a way to get over there without getting in their cars.

My family and I took a round trip this weekend. A great cheap way to get out on the water. The boat was full and social.

Are they serving alcohol?

It is very hard to find out any information about these cruises. I don't understand why they do not have a website.

Not that I have any seafaring experience on which to draw, but a 25-minute trip from the marina to the Commercial Slip seems about a swimmer's pace.

i'm glad they stopped calling it a water taxi because it definitely is not....it is essentially an inexpensive cruise geared towards tourist...which is fine, but calling it a water taxi is totally inaccurate.....and no alcohol yet but I've heard that Doug's Dive offers one 1/2 priced well drink by redeeming your punched ferry ticket inside the barroom area

Thanks Billy. Would you know if Dug's Dive classifies Smirnoff Red Label Vodka as well or top-shelf?

This is a great service connecting some of the waterfront attractions. But it's not a quick way to get from the inner harbor to the outer harbor. I think there's still a need to have a faster link (quicker than 30 minutes). Maybe once they establish themselves they can add an express run.

I think the pace is perfect. Most people taking this want to be able to enjoy going out on the water and seeing the city from the lake. Its not about efficient transportation. When I finally get a chance to get out on it Im going just for the boat ride, not for the destinations.

much faster than the 2 hours it would take to walk to Dug's Dive from the inner harbor. I'll take it!

We saw this ferry this past weekend. The many people onboard looked to be having a good time! This venture will grow and succeed whether it is used as a taxi or as a nice way to spend time, but the fact of visiting different places will be what grows it best.

Meanwhile, where has the ship with the red sails gone to? So far, we haven't seen it moving past the Hatch.

I can't wait to try this out next week. I remember taking the water taxi a few times in NYC to Jersey City. It's more for the views than anything.
