Spring weather is here in Buffalo and transitioning your closet from winter to summer can sometimes be a challenge. However, as always, Fashion Maniac has you covered when it comes to what to wear this spring season.
A huge trend we have seen in women's and men's outerwear this season is khaki trench coats. In the spring summer 2011 collections of Marc by Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors, trench coats certainly made their mark in each designers runway ensembles. Pairing a women's trench with tan accessories can be effortlessly chic when stepping out this season, tan belts and shoes are a great way to showcase this trend. Neon accessories can also add a fun unexpected flair to a traditional khaki trench. The trench coat seems to be such a timeless piece that having fun with colorful accessories can take this key wardrobe piece right in 2011. Khaki ponchos are a great trend for this year as well, Ports 1961 showcased the poncho perfectly in their S/S 11 collection pairing it with pastels skirts and tan belts. Ponchos are a personal favorite of mine they are a great piece to have in your wardrobe and can be worn so many ways, a versatile item is certainly something to invest in. The khaki trench coat of course isn't just for the ladies, guys can most certainly wear this trend and look just as great as us gals. For the men pairing your trench with classic pieces can instantly add sophistication to your style, simple items such as a button up shirt, a bow tie and oxford shoes will have you looking great this spring season.
Hats are a very big trend being seen on this springs runways as well. With the rain that this season can bring, a great hat is certainly something to invest in. The biggest trend being seen is the fedora, these hats can come in all sorts of colors and instantly add a fashionable flair to your outfit. Mara Hoffman (a Buffalo native) used grey fedoras in her spring/summer collection, whereas Tommy Hilfiger used a bold red hue for his runway ready hats.
Whatever color you choose this season it will be sure to flatter any ensemble.
This spring, above all else, enjoy the great warm weather we Buffalonians have been patiently awaiting. Of course by following these trendy tips looking great can only make the weather that much more enjoyable.
