How To Have Fun Productions, MNM Presents and Victor Colonna, Jr. will be hosting "Dance Your Art Off," an event to support the Give For Greatness campaign to save the arts scene in Buffalo. The night will bring forth the ultimate dance party, featuring some of Buffalo's prime talent.
"When I heard that the local arts community needed some help, the creative juices started flowing and I began calling the best people I knew," said Tony Billoni, founder of How To Have Fun Productions. "Buffalo has such a rich arts community is was never a problem bringing a warehouse full of incredibly talented people together to give a few thousand people a night of magic and creativity."
How To Have Fun Productions, the inventor of the Artists & Models Affair, the Jam Club and Crash Club, will be continuing its reputation for creating mind-blowing experiences for partygoers. Local performer DJ Cutler will be opening the show with a nod to the past, spinning R&B music on vinyl originals. He will set the scene for Buffalo's own DJ John Ceglia, whose impressive work has taken him from the Queen City to major venues in New York and Las Vegas.
"I'm excited to be part of this event for many reasons," Ceglia said. "The opportunity to finally team up with Tony Billoni, Artvoice, and Mike Marshall of MNM Productions, to work again with David Butler and DJ Cutler...the opportunity to do a big event in my hometown, playing the new progressive electronic music I enjoy playing in New York, Fire Island, Vegas and Miami...but most importantly, to do something to help our local arts community. Hopefully we can do this once or twice a year to help the cause and have a great time doing it."
Local theatrical designer and performer David Butler will be creating an atmosphere like no other, filling the venue with light installations, fun décor, and poi and flag spinners. iPad Artist & No Kardashians! will be adding interactive installations to the mix. Pyromancy, Buffalo's own pyrotechnic performers, will be adding another explosive dimension to the dance floor. " I was transfixed from the first time I saw Pyromancy," said Butler. "They work magic with movement and light. We are very excited to have them energize our event."
The night will kick off at 9 p.m. at the Town Ballroom, located at 681 Main Street. Guests ages 18 and up are welcome. There will be a minimum donation of $15 in advance and $20 at the door. To get tickets in advance, pick them up at Artvoice or the Town Ballroom box office, or buy them on tickets.com. All of the proceeds from this event will go towards the Give for Greatness campaign to restore $1 million to local cultural organizations after their funding was cut from the county budget.
