You've heard of snakes on a plane? Sounds frightening, huh? Well, if you're a Buffalonian then the thought of snow sharks should be absolutely bone chilling! We're not talking about the old Land Shark from Saturday Night Live either... we're talking about a prehistoric Great White that somehow managed to adapt to living in oceans of snow. So, you're not buying it, huh? OK, well... you'll just have to wait for the release of Sam Qualiana's latest movie, currently in production, called Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast.
Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast Is a movie based in Buffalo, NY (of course) that will make you think twice the next time that you go X-country skiing through Delaware Park, head out for a day of snowboarding to Ellicottville, or even attempt to play pond hockey on Gala Waters (Hoyt Lake).
Remember Bill Herod's Legend of The Buffalo Iron Man? And wasn't there a Bigfoot sighting (ala Hans Mobius) back in 2006? Of course these are all legends... or are they? Thanks to producer/director Sam Qualiana, Buffalo has a new legend to wrap your imagination around. "I've always had a very big fear of sharks," Sam told me. "And thought it would be terrifying if there was no escape from them, even on the land. When I was young I made a short film about it and wanted to re-boot it now that I've had more experience in film. Were hoping to screen it at Buffalo Screams Festival this year amongst other places available. We've already begun production and filmed 2-days worth of footage. The cast and crew have been coming together quite well so far."
