Leave a commentIt would be great to see Terry get involved with the arts and culture, as did Seymour.
It would be great to see Pegula gt involved with building a true winner on the ice so we can parade the Cup around Niagara Square
It would be best to see a Stanley Cup. I hope he focuses on winning hockey games.
It was really Seymours father that was involved in the arts much more that he and Norty. Solid citizens perfect example of Noblesse oblige.
Pegula and Pat Kane are both part of the Knox legacy.
Seymour Knox didn't just buy an NHL franchise in 1970, he instilled a fever. With the selection of GM Punch Imlach, Gil Perrault, the French Connection and a Stanley Cup Finalist in 1975, WNY enthusiasm for the team exploded.
It blazed the trail of a die hard fans like Terry Pegula in the 80's and a hockey hotbed that nurtured Pat Kane to become a number 1 NHL draft choice in the 90's.
Here's to Seymour and Fred Hunt, who convinced the Knox's to pursue an NHL franchise - and all that is yet to follow!
Very cool and important, especially today - thanks for sharing, bluedevil. We're all enamored with Pegula's passion - let's hope he carries himself with the same class and commitment to community as the Knox family...
"Pegula, not surprisingly, defended hydraulic fracturing . . . He said he would lobby for the oil and gas industry that has allowed him his good fortune. . .I like to say there are landowners - hundreds, maybe thousands - who have hit the lottery and don't know it yet."
That's part of Terry Pegula's "Hello" prepared by WBEN's website. Sorry, but another expression comes to mind when offered a hydrofracking "lottery": "Good Bye".
At least your comment is completely on topic, right? Loser.
