Retro Vision on Lexington

Retro Vision on Lexington
Back in '06 Steel wrote about this corner of Lexington and Ashland, one block in from Elmwood Avenue. In the post, he not only discussed his love for the building's architectural elements, he also lamented that the corner was underutilized and would serve much better as a shop or cafe (see post). It looks as if that time has finally come, as there is a rather unique vintage shop setting up inside.

In the past, the commercial space had been used as an office for the building owner who operated a garage door company. Apparently the owner was amenable to another operator moving in - a move that will hopefully help to strengthen that quaint commercial corridor. The vintage clothing and sundry boutique will join the ranks of a series of well-established shops and restaurants including Kuni's, The Place and Wild Things (Click here for an up-to-date list).

The owner of the vintage store is also in the process of establishing an antique shop on Hertel Avenue after relocating to Buffalo from Florida. The vintage clothing store on Lexington will not be your typical vintage shop - the owner specializes in turn of the century pieces, mixed in with more recent retro finds.

Saw the window when going to Kuni's last week. Loved everything I saw. Can't wait for it to open.

Awesome, It's not everyday you see a cool looking store set up on a side street in this city. Let's keep them coming.

Can't wait to check it out. When will it officially be open? Also pretty pysched by the mention of this owner opening a store on Hertel as well. Looking forward to some info on that one too!
