The Christmas Soiree II: Presented by Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo

The Christmas Soiree II: Presented by Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo
The Buffalo Entertainment District will feature the premiere Holiday event of the season with the Christmas Soiree II: Presented by Mercedes Benz of Buffalo, at Bayou on Wednesday night.  All proceeds will benefit Bunkers in Baghdad, an organization that sends sporting goods to our troops fighting overseas. Last year's inaugural soiree raised thousands for Carly's Club of Roswell Park and helped with toy donations for needy children.

The Soiree is hosted by Sean Coughlin, Tom Cowan and Jim Lorentz, three young entrepreneurial Buffalonians with visions and standards that stretch beyond what is considered to be typical for a Buffalo event.  "We wanted to create an exclusive, high-end event for Buffalo that has the look and feel of a big city gathering.  Buffalo's transformation is becoming evident in many areas and we wanted to be the pioneers for raising the bar in the event category," said Coughlin.  "The event is first class in every aspect.  With the help of our title sponsor, Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo, we were able to secure an exclusive and highly sought-after DJ from Toronto, as well as professionally decorate the Bayou into a lavish yet tasteful Holiday-themed environment."

There is a strict dress code for the event, described as "fashionable nightlife attire," which will be enforced at the door.  "We want to provide an opportunity for people to dress up and feel proud to be a part of such an exclusive event in Buffalo," said Tom Cowan.  "It was refreshing to see so many guys in suits and women in dresses last year at the first Soiree." Jim Lorentz agreed saying, "The Soiree is a party with a purpose.  Last year we were encouraged patrons to make a monetary donation and/or bring an unwrapped gift for Carly's Club.  The response was overwhelming. Our goal is to create an annual event that benefits a worthy and relevant charity while providing an unprecedented atmosphere for our guests.  We had an amazing crowd last year featuring many Buffalo business owners, restaurateurs, young professionals, and even some of our friends from the Buffalo Sabres.  We're hoping for the same outreach Wednesday night."

The event is guest list only.  To secure your spot at the Christmas Soiree, please email rsvp@soireenewyork.com requesting your name and the number of guests you plan on bringing. (Eg: Mike Smith +4)

Visit www.soireenewyork.com for more details. Event hours: 10pm-4am | $20 at the door or $10 if on the guest list

Looks like a bunch of Clarence kids coming down to the city to show off their handbags and expensive button downs. But it is for charity, so there's that.

I am normally not negative about any event, especially those that are for charity. However, having to request to be on the guest list is pretty lame. I'm going to send in a request with a less than white sounding name and see if it gets put on the guest list.

Are you really against people from the suburbs returning to Buffalo....

Attracting all the money and people that left Buffalo back into it should always be the goal of anyone trying to restore Buffalo back to its glory days.

People from the burbs and Buffalo are in this together. I don't want to put words in your mouth but I hope you realize this.

Ah, looking like hookers.

Great charity though. Never heard of it. So like transpo said, throw some trust fund money at it.

Plus it's better than that event over the summer that chick threw on Chippewa, where the proceeds went to Carl "I don't have enough money already" Paladino.

Man, you guys are brutal.
I see one handbag, no button downs and a bunch of attractive girls and one pair of thighs - I guess that's good enough to label them "trust fund hookers from Clarence".
YOU are the snobs.

Picture 1: I had to laugh at the pseudo hipster wearing what appears to be a cape or a blanket of some sort along with a beanie. Looks like someone got to take out daddies benz for the night and is caught in the struggle of deciding whether the hipster lifestyle is something you can buy.

Picture two: top left corner guy in a business suit kneeling on some sort of couch while pathetically grasping a glass of self confidence. It gets better, the four girls who appear at the focal point two of which are making the fish pout face while their friend to right of them holds her head secretly wondering why she was there. Also notice random guy wondering what the hell is going on with a look of confusion and wonder on his face(que the Tim the toolman Taylor sound effect uuggghhhhahh).

Third picture: The reason rich men who lack certain other qualities buy Mercedes.

I am on the guest list the name is Dougie. I can teach you how.

I was wondering about the guy in the beanie and the cape (I thought it was a Snuggie, or maybe an authentic fair trade Mexican poncho).

Strict dress code? Grey wool cape and a plaid snuggie does not scream "Holiday Attire" to me or Mercedes Benz for that matter. Neither due the Wlson Leather jackets. Pretty girls though.

That maybe the largest collection of pretty women photographed together in Buffalo. None of them seem to have 80s hair and fake tans as well. Looks like a good party and a good cause as well.

Gorgeous and pretty classy looking girls. The exact opposite of Jersey Shore girls.

Great event! Only in Buffalo would people complain about this.

Are your first two sentences sarcasm? Classy and gorgeous? Let's not go crazy here. We're not far off from seeing a cooter from the girl in the pink dress. And "the exact opposite of Jersey Shore girls". Hmm. I coulda sworn I saw Snookie in one of those pictures.

I don't know what to say, probably a nice enough group with good intentions but seems pretentious and shallow at the same time. I guess the Mercedes Benz Emblem in every picture sets the tone and in the end is detrimental to the credibility and charity of those involved.

Funny how you throw out a shot regarding money at me but you constantly preach on this site about how greed and material goods are so bad. Typical liberal hypocrite.

No, I was responding to your typical sarcastic tone. I actually think it would be admirable if you bought a house in Black Rock and contributed to the neighborhood. Nothing wrong with buying a $25,000 house and renovating it. Pride comes from actions and reputatuion, not from wealth or status.

BTW, I have never provoked you, just replied to your snarky comments after ignoring several of your insults.

You people suck. Yes, I'm sure that many of the girls there are slutty. And yes, there will be tools-galore, but not every girl that dresses sexy and goes out is a slut, and not every guy who likes to wear a suit at a club is a douche. If you think that, you're just ignorant. There are people in the world who are different from you, and you may hate them, but rather than sound like a judgmental ass, just be thankful that it's for charity and that people will be having a good time in Buffalo.

I dont think any of those pics are from Buffalo, the promotion pictures are from Mercedes Benz of Buffalo, but DT does not have one club that is as big as the first picture. Plus girls that go to Chippewa dont dress that well. I would say those are pictures from NYC.

That would explain a lot, especially hot, in-shape women being in those pics. NYC, that makes sense.

those pics were taken at SOCIAL NIGHTCLUB. It's not as big as it appears. I was at this party last year and actually had a pretty good time.

And the kid in the wool cap and cape was on the guest list with the DJ for that night

You go to NYC, and button downs are the casual shirt of choice with somesort of peacoat. A polo shirt makes you basically look like a slob

In buffalo, bars are infested with people wearing dirty old ski jackets and a polo is usually "dressy"

DJ's? Button downs? Peacoats? SIGN ME UP! dweeb. If we do that can we be like NYC too? Boy I hope so.

Buffalo bars as well as NYC bars are infested with people being themselves and the nightlife here has something for everyones taste just like NYC. If you like Punk rock or metal we have clubs for that, if you like Jazz we have clubs for that, If you like to dance we have clubs for that, If you like to emulate your favorite fist pumping Jersey shore character we definitely have places for you. Dont act like a cry baby when someone attacks the pretentious snobs that think paying an inflated cover means exclusivity when in fact it means a club full of pretentious dweebs. I enjoyed reading the comments of you, chetroia and Cottage district who clearly demonstrate why people like me laugh at clones of pop culture who glow with insecurity while hiding behind your polyester threads and status symbols. Enjoy your "DJ'S" and your Mercedes clones.

I am also loving the comments from old perverts who are blown away that young girls dress provocatively the first time the go to a night club. WOW LOOK AT THAT! lames
