As part of its first-ever College Green Bowl, the CFGB is offering three $3,000 grants to teams of three or more college students who have developed projects that address issues in the environment. These projects must have the backing of a non-profit organization's administrator or partner organization in order to qualify for award grants. Submissions are being accepted until December 31, 2010 and up to six finalists will be selected by a committee. Then, the public will be asked to choose three winners by voting on the Grow WNY Facebook page. This voting process will begin on January 24, 2011. The winners will be announced on February 1.
This effort by the CFBG grew out of a similar idea from Youth Connection, which is a branch of the Western New York Environmental Alliance (WNYEA) and is comprised of college student environmental groups. This group strives to increase students' involvement in regional environmental activism and to help them find jobs in this field. Youth Connection serves as a link between these student environmental groups and the WNYEA. Monthly meetings are held to bring young people and their adult mentors in to work on collaborative projects with the WNYEA.

I'm so proud about people who take care about environment not only in articles or essays. Another great point about it is that projects must have the backing of a non-profit organization's administrator so they are not commercial in fact.
