Sometimes one forgets how much Buffalo is steeped in history. When taking a walk up Hertel Avenue, I'm reminded how fortunate we are with the vast selection of shops and items that would put Martha Stewart's showcase to shame. Now there's a 'renewed' gallery shop, called Silent Voices, that serves up Americana in a friendly and sophisticated environment. With items ranging from the museum grade quality to rustic grandeur, its proprietor Frank Scheuttle is no stranger to the arts community. Frank has an extensive background in material culture, art, and antiques, and holds a Master of Arts Degree in American Folk Culture from the Cooperstown Graduate Program of the New York State Historical Association. As a collector and proprietor, he has assembled and dealt for forty years and regularly acts as a consultant for museum exhibits within New York State. His passion and knowledge of his curios will make your visit and/or investment very memorable.
Frank's 'grand re-opening' is Friday night the 3rd of December at 5:00 pm and coincides with the Holiday Walk, with catering by Joe's Deli and Premier Wines. Silent Voices is located at 1495 Hertel Avenue, just west of the Hertel and Parkside intersection. You can also find more information about this gem of shop by calling 716.830.9906 or clicking on www.SilentVoicesArts.com.
