With New Years looming around the corner, some of us probably have a few things on our mind. #1: What will be our resolution this year? #2: Where we will be when that ball drops and... #3 (maybe most important): What should we wear?! This New Years, Fashion Maniac has you covered with the perfect gown ideas from the runways and right here in Buffalo.

One big trend in fashion this year is black velvet dresses. Designer Katie Stern sent black long velvet dresses down the runway this season with lace cut out details and high slits. These two trends in evening wear are very popular right now. A high slit on a long black velvet dress adds a sophisticated sexiness - this is perfect for a more elegant New Years gathering. It's chic yet trendy at the same time. The "cut out" detail is being seen on many of this seasons dresses and is gaining in popularity. Flowing dresses with cut out details on the back or at the mid drift add a touch of sex appeal, it's perfect for the women who wants to take a bit of a fashion risk this New Years Eve.

Adding either of these trends to a black velvet dress will keep you looking classic and trendy all at the same time. Finding black velvet dresses in the city of Buffalo may be easier than you think. Silver is a bold way to stand out this year and a great way to rock a show stopping trend. For those who want to don a more understated look, wearing a cream colored gown will help you achieve that, adding small silver details to your outfit will keep you standing out without going too overboard. Buffalo, again is a perfect city to shop for ball gowns this New Years Eve.
