Celebrate @ Hardware with a pint of Canalside

Celebrate @ Hardware with a pint of Canalside
As a way to celebrate the Lighter, Quicker Cheaper concept for the Inner Harbor, waterfront activist Mark Goldman is throwing a party at Allen Street Hardware Cafe in Allentown one week from today. Stop by and raise a pint of Canalside Ale - a beer brewed specifically for the occasion. Mark is calling this a 'New Day' for the waterfront, and is anticipating a growing movement where community involvement is not just idle talk, but rather an integral component of the process.

Come join in on the fun December 16th starting at 9pm. "This is an important event in the life of our city," Mark stated in an email. "And we want to celebrate it. So, next Thursday, at the Allen Street Hardware Cafe, we're having a party with food, music and a beer brewed specially for this occasion: Canalside Ale. Musical entertainment will consist of The Canal Street String Band, The Doug Yeomans "Back to the Roots Quintet" and powerful vocals by our own Rick Smith."

I look forward to this event, and more down the road. Maybe next year Mark will announce an even lighter version of Canalside Ale, served up even quicker and cheaper... this could be an interesting trend.

I like the idea of free beer anytime but is it a joke that Rick Superfreak Smith is going to be there. I thought he died.

I'm not sure why anyone would want a light beer. Light beer is mostly pretty terrible.

Also, to the last poster: where does it say "free"? Pretty sure you have to pay.

And who is brewing this ale?

I would agree with DuRaS that light beer isn't as good but for the sake of the event I can drink it! But then again I'd drink to screwing in a light bulb so you know where I stand haha.

Lighter, quicker, cheaper? Keep your lighter, quicker, cheaper and take it back to Chippewa! Clean up your pigsty of a garbage area. Take your trashy clientele back to the strip or to a new canal side establishment. I'm tired of people (male and female) pissing in my yard, on my house... I'm not blaming this on the Hardware but things sure have changed in this area in the past year. Have your celebration but if there is parking on both sides of my street I will have the cars illegally parked ticketed. I'm tired of Mark Goldman’s BS!
