Buffalo International Film Festival 2010

Buffalo International Film Festival 2010
By: Mackenzie Lambert

The fourth annual Buffalo International Film Festival unofficially kicked off last Friday with a screening of the complete Metropolis at the Market Arcade theater. At 7pm tonight, October 1st, it officially begins with a gala screening of the Emmy-award winning Temple Grandin starring Claire Danes, Julia Ormand, David Strathairin, and Catherine O'Hara. The movie will be shown as part of a fundraiser supporting the Western New York Autism Community.

Simultaneously there are other screenings occurring at various venues throughout the city that same night. The Screening Room will be screening the drama Lovely, Still starring Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn at 7pm, followed by a screening of the complete Metropolis at 9pm. At 7pm at the HD Cafe in Williamsville, there will be a screening for Aki Aleong's I Am Somebody/No Chance In Hell featuring Reggie Lee, Timothy Bottoms, Jason Connery, and others in one of the most interesting casts I've seen in a long time.

There is much to be seen at this year's festival. Overall, there is something that should suit the taste of any and all film-goers.
