Coney Island Sideshow

Coney Island Sideshow
Come one, come all, to the freaky sideshow at Club Diablo tonight during Infringement Festival Buffalo!

Hosted by ringleader Benjamin Wilson, this fetish circus will excite and delight crowds over 18 years of age for one night only. The group comes from a home base in Coney Island where the corn dogs and peanuts are a-plenty and the men and women alike line up to see the world's best burlesque show.

The menagerie will feature good old fashioned freaks, burlesque girls and country punk bands including The Squidling Bros. Circus, Vive Le Vox, Jason and the Punknecks, Guitar Bomb, Hickry Hawkins and The Holy Rollers, a trio of monster psychotrash rock 'n' roll burst onto the freak scene 4 years ago at the Coney Island Boardwalk. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best carnivale clothing. For a complete list of performers, check out the Coney Island Cockabilly Roadshow website or come on out to the greatest show in Buffalo!

so now you don't even have to be from western ny to get into buffalo ibnfingement festival?

here we are, so proud of our art & music community, until it comes time to organize festivals, and then we can't import talent fast enough.

this was probably the worst ten bucks I've ever spent. The author should do their homework next time rather than just gleaning information off the web, the show was pathetic.

Our writer requested an interview with a representative of the organization. The interviewee wasn't very interested in speaking with the press at all and wasn't very helpful in providing further details of what the audience experience would be like. Therefore, our writer had to rely on the web and promotional materials provided to BR a month ago. We had hoped that the interviewee's attitude wasn't reflective of the group's performance since they are a rather well-known attraction. It is sad to hear that that isn't the case.

I don't know Christa, maybe the lousy attitude should have been worked into the article somehow. What's the point of posting these types of things, it's almost as if BR is "selling" these things but what your offering is really nothing more than what's listed in Gusto or Artvoice.

How can a reporter tell is a show will be crappy or not? They can't. They can only go off of the information that the entertainer provided.

This did sound like a cool event and that's a nice slick graphic up above (poster), but judging from the comments of 4matic, I am glad I did not go.

Is Diablo even a good venue to host such an event like this? It's a very cool bar, but the stage and viewing area is sort of small.

I wouldn't exactly call the author a reporter, but don't you think there are at least some reviews posted around the web that could be referred to? Diablo is one of the worst venues for any kind of show. It's like a Tokyo subway train. And I'm not sure about the "cool" factor. I always feel like I'm surrounded by "evil" junk purchased at Spencer's.
