So far, the summer in Buffalo has been questionable at best. Sometimes it's been warm, but we've had a few weekends where it has been outright cold and rainy, leaving the option for a patio brunch off the list. When it comes to brunch and cool weather, outdoor seating isn't the only thing that goes off my list. I don't want eat anything light and I want to be someplace that will pick my mood up by simply sitting there.
In my world, Betty's fits that bill exactly. With its warm and vibrant colors, it makes you feel just a little more at home when having a meal with family, friends, or even by yourself. Betty's is open for breakfast on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and brunch on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The breakfast menu itself is an eclectic mix of foods and there is an additional Sunday Brunch menu. Patrons can find everything from granola to a variety of breakfast sandwiches, and vegetarians can even enjoy the Tofu Hash (this dish can easily be made vegan-friendly with the substitution of a grilled pita in the place of toast).
Since it was cold and rainy on the day we visited, I really wanted something warm and comforting to lift my spirits. My daughter and I arrived around 10:30, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that there was no wait and ample, empty seating. The Sunday Brunch menu for the day included two different variations of quiche, a Stuffed Strawberry French Toast Casserole, and a Vegetarian Hash, to name just a few.
If you haven't been to Betty's then you really need to get there. The service is friendly, helpful, and prompt. Though I only briefly touched on what we ordered that day, I have yet to go to Betty's for breakfast or brunch and be disappointed.
