Irish Classical Theatre: The Wake

Irish Classical Theatre: The Wake
On Friday, March 12th, join the Irish Classical Theatre Company (ICTC) for their annual fundraiser "The Wake" from 7-11PM, at the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, at 453 Porter Avenue as they celebrate the passing of their fictitious friend Theodre (Ted) N. Gaughan.

There will be a combination of live music, food, drinks and delightful company to help get through this difficult time. The memorial includes a eulogy to the late Mr. Gaughan, by Father Pat Keleher, Director of the Newman Center at University of Buffalo.

Come thirsty; your tickets will include free wine and beer all night. There will more than enough food courtesy of The Gourmet Store. Tickets for ICTC subscribers are $40 and $45 for all others. Free parking for the event will be available at the Kleinhans Music Hall parking lots on Porter and on Normal.

"Mourners" are invited to participate in the raffles for valuable prizes. This includes two roundtrips tickets from Myrtle Beach Direct Air out of Niagara Falls International Aiport, Buffalo Sabres tickets, or a private "Tour of Europe" wine tasting party at Parings Wine Bar in Williamsville. You can even win a chance to have dinner with ICTC Co-Founder an Artistic Director Vincent O'Neill and Producing Director Fortunato Pezzimenti at Mother's Restaurant, followed by a play at the Irish Classical Theatre Company.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the ICTC. Live music will be provided by popular Celtic folk band, Poor Ould Goat. Also headlining the evening will be Stone Row, who is sure to bring down the house with an eclectic blend of old world classics and progressive Celtic rock with a contemporary edge.

As background, Theodore (Ted) N. Gaughan 99 (left), died relatively peacefully at his home in South Buffalo. He was born in The Liberties district of Dublin. At age 15 he came to America. Gaughan found employment in the thriving metropolis of Buffalo, NY.
