Day 3: Trattoria Aroma

Day 3: Trattoria Aroma
Trattoria Aroma is a great supporter of our local products.

My friend Amy and I stopped in at the Bryant location for dinner last night and ordered a bunch of stuff to share.  We had the Local Restaurant Week 3-course special, a pizza from their wood oven and the bolognese. I also have better pictures for y'all.

For our 3 course meal we chose the bruschetta, the risotto, and the pork chops.  The bruschetta had a nice smokey flavor.  The carbonara risotto had peas in it and it's a great vegetarian choice. That's one of the nice things about the special menu-- it's vegetarian friendly.  The pork chops were a little bit oily for my liking.

To tell you the truth, we're bigger fans of the regular menu options.  The pizza was awesome!  We had the white pizza and all the veggies on the pizza were so fresh and flavorful.  The bolognese was great too. I love their fresh pastas.

For dessert, Amy and I had the Tiramisu-- and that was wonderful.  Their dessert chef Daniella is amazing.

Do stop by and check it out, but if you don't want to mingle with the Local Restaurant Week crowd, their regular menu is definitely worth the trip.

Did you confirm that the Carbonara Risotto is made vegetarian? Carbonara is not traditionally vegetarian - it is usually made with either pancetta or bacon.

Day 5 - Juniper, Hutch's, or Fiamma?

Surprise us.

Just ate there last night for restaurant week and actually placed the same order as the one reviewed above (by chance). Not impressed - sloppy bruschetta, undercooked and over-salted risotto, and a piece of pork that only tasted like its fried exterior and its ill-advised tangy vinaigrette - no porkiness! Aside from very good pizzas and a nice patio, I continue to be disappointed by this place.

Sorry to hear that, I have had a great meal there each time I have been. My last 3 meals there consisted of pork belly bruschetta, lobster ravoli, pork chop w/a fried egg and chive oil, veal marrow ravioli appetizer, pork belly appetizer, and a seared duck breast/braised duck leg entree. Everything has always been fantastic.

Great Italian white wines, not that most would tend to be concerned...but I always stop by this place when I visit my folks and am always seeing 2-3 very good whites you've never heard of or could buy retail (reds too, but the whites seem 'more better' in an interest sense to me)
