The City of Light derives much of its splendor from its striking architecture. From the vast, historic houses on Delaware Avenue to the ornate churches in the heart of the city, these buildings are rich with character.
Specializing in city architecture, the Buffalo/Western N.Y. Chapter Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) intends to "improve and expand the documentation of and scholarly attention to Buffalo's built environment." Though there are very impressive buildings throughout the city, SAH is also interested in bringing light to storefronts, lesser-known architects and overlooked neighborhoods.
The group is made up of urban planners, researchers, librarians, architects and others who are enthusiastic about Buffalo's architecture. Meetings take place every second Monday of each month. More information is available here.

Come to our next meeting which is scheduled for Monday, April 12th at 7:00PM at JP Bullfeather's at 1080 Elmwood Avenue! We'll be hammering out some of the organizational issues for our group.
Also, we don't just focus on high-style architecture located just in Buffalo. As our name implies, we are dedicated to the study of all buildings, sites, objects, structures and landscapes in all of Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Western New York. Whether you have a favorite building, love the the town in which you were born or are fond of a specific architect's work- we welcome you to join us!
