Tonight: Do Art, See Art

There are a few venues downtown tonight that should get the art community and its supporters going.

WAM will be holding their monthly celebration of local art tonight at the Stillwater, at 481 Delaware Avenue, from 7 to 10:30, featuring the On the Sly with the Saakuma Dance Troupe. House band, as always, will be Free Henry!, and there will be food and drink specials. The featured visual artists tonight are Scotty Bye and Jennifer Clark.

Also, for those of you wishing to brush up on your figure drawing technique, The VAuLT Gallery, at 702 Main Street, is holding a class with a live model tonight. This is the first of many art workshops on the rise at The VAuLT.

Anyone is welcome to join. Participants must bring their own materials and a $5 donation to pay the model for the time. It is an open workshop where no instructor will be present but there will be a few artists around to help out and give advice.

A critique could form after the workshop if the participants wanted to have an open discussion about what they created. Doors at 7. Workshop begins at 7:30.

You'll have to plan your night carefully to make both venues, but they're just a skip away from each other.
