Captain Jack's is Back

Captain Jack’s is Back
First we waited and waited.  Then they were here, and before we knew it, there was a mysterious "Gone Fishing" sign hung on the door, and Captain Jack's was closed.  "A weekend excursion?" we wondered.  Then, weeks turned into months.

Now, the Elmwood Avenue fish and chips eatery has reopened.  Owner Pete Cavaretta is glad to be be back in business following some last-minute inspections from the fire Marshall that kept the business in a suspended state from November until now, after first being permitted to open last summer.

No doubt fans of Captain Jack's will be happy to be able to patronize the popular establishment again, and Cavaretta is glad to be reopened in time for Lent.  Let's all go there this week and see if we can't help Cavaretta make up for lost time.

I thought it was just closed for the winter (a seasonal thing), thanks for the info. I look forward to finally being able to try this place out.

Fire Marshall inspections that took 4 months?!?!? Seriously?
No wonder it takes decades to get anything done around here.
What's wrong with this city?!?!?

New management, isn't it? The article kind of implies it's the same owner (or is he a "hands off" owner with hired management?).

Same owner, family run.

Oh, the Elmwood Village Association's Facebook page said it was under new management.

That's how I approached Cavaretta, and he said, "What? No."

Maybe reopening in the winter, there won't be employees (plural) smoking outside in the area that's set for patrons to eat. The food was good but that's pretty rotten ambience!
