Doreen DeBoth, the Artsphere Studio and Gallery owner who exhibits legions of others artwork, is opening a show of her own, with a reception this Friday, February 5th, from 6:30 to 9PM.

If you haven't seen DeBoth's new space at 447 Amherst Street, across the street and a little bit east of her former gallery, now is the time to stop in and see the new digs too. DeBoth's show is entitled, "Thoughts Obscured," and is a collection of paintings and collages by the artist.
The idea behind "Thoughts" comes from chalkboards, and the way profundities are written on them, only to be obliterated. DeBoth says, "Knowledge that appeared on the chalkboard was absorbed into the mind, but the physicalness of it remained in the form of volumetric marks and linear elements. As an artist, writer, and teacher, the act of transforming writing into marks is visually and aesthetically pleasing. In these works I have imbedded thoughts and feelings, obscured them, and repeated the process many times."
While you're on Amherst, don't forget to stop into 464 Gallery, also on Amherst, for the opening of Chuck Tingley's show, "Emotional Effusion".
DeBoth's exhibit will be on display until February 20th.
