Buffalo's Kate Hellenbrand: The Godmother of Tattoo

Comments
Leave a commentI'm glad she's from the area and getting some national exposure. She may also be an important figure in the industry for women as well. However as someone who is always looking for a great tat artist, I was a little disappointed once I saw her portfolio.
A great tat artist in the area is Paul Massaro.
The guy who does my tattoos is known internationally now and started his career here in Buffalo too, at Nickel City. He has been featured in tattoo magazines and frequently has his work shown in them. He travels all over the country and even abroad, as do his clients.
His name is Josh and he now owns his own shop in Nashville. You won't be disappointed when you see his portfolio.

I don't think I could be so bold as to get a naked women spread eagle on my back or a can of red bull on my arm. =\
Another great female tattoo artist is Jessica at Redhouse Tattoo in Depew. Her and her husband own it and do a fantastic job. Plus, she is very straight forward about rates and what to expect, etc. It is also the cleanest shop I've been to, in fact the health board uses her shop as an example for training inspectors for tattoo shop inspections.
I'm thinking of getting something unique, something tribal, just at the base of my spine, can she do that?
There are thousands of great tattoo artists in the USA.
Many from Western New York.
What's that hideous space alien attaching itself to poor Kate?

It's great to see a local artist gain National exposure and rub elbows with celebrities!
